The Lifesavers Leadership Breakfast acknowledges community and corporate partners who support the Detroit MOTTEP Foundation's annual educational programs and events. MOTTEP is committed to providing culturally competent programs that engage ethnically diverse communities regarding the importance of organ and tissue donation. This is also a time to honor our volunteers, donor families, organ recipients, and community champions.

 

The Lifesavers Leadership Breakfast is also the launch of the 25th Annual LIFE Walk event, which increases the visibility of our life-enhancing and lifesaving message.

Dr. Silas P. Norman

M.D., M.P.H.
University of Michigan

Dr. Norman is an associate professor of Internal Medicine in the division of nephrology, section of transplant at the University of Michigan. He has been on staff at the university since 2003. Doctor Norman has been interested in improving patient access to health care and is the director of the University of Michigan transplant ambulatory care unit. In addition, Dr. Norman is the co-director of a program to provide kidney transplant opportunities that HIV infected candidates. He is a previous chair of the organ procurement and transplant network / united network for organ sharing minority affairs committee, a member of the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan’s Scientific Advisory Board, and a valuable board member of the Detroit MOTTEP Foundation.
